Coprolites are the fossilized poops of animals that lived millions of years ago. They are trace fossils, meaning it is fossilized evidence of the animal, but not the actual animal body.  A coprolite can give scientists clues about an animal’s diet. What would your poop say about your diet?

Check out some amazing facts about dinosaurs and impress your friends and family with your knowledge!  HOW BIG IS THE BIGGEST DINOSAUR POOP FOSSIL?  The world’s largest dinosaur poop fossil, or coprolite, is actually named ‘Barnum’!  At over 2 feet long and 20 pounds, or 67 centimeters and nearly 10 kilograms, Barnum is a gigantic T. rex coprolite that earned the title of largest found coprolite in 2020! (do you think it still smells stinky?)
